So the site has been online for the better part of a month now and I am finally getting around to formally introducing myself. I am more often than not referred to as the guy who likes everything. This can be a tad misleading to some of you new visitors. They are really referring to all things gaming….which is not the total truth either. Yes, I will admit that I generally have to find some major flaw in the game play or some inconsistent technical detail in the game before I dislike it. This is not the case for ALL games though. As alone on this as I may be, I do not like the Final Fantasy games or the Grand Theft Auto games. Lets first talk FF. I don't do the turn based thing. I know, I know. D&D was turn based blah blah blah…. If I wanted to play a turn based game, then I would buy a board game. This is a high end gaming console and I want things to be real time. As for GTA3, I don't need to do the same damned thing over and over and over again. That type of game gets old.
Still think I like everything? I didn't think so. As for games that I do like… I expect to get the following games for Christmas so I haven't been able to buy them yet: Nightfire, MechAssault, Splinter Cell, MOHAA (Finally), and No One Lives Forever 2. "That is fine and dandy, but what have you been playing as of late?" If you read my review of Kingdom Hearts, then you know that I spent a large chunk of the last 3 months or so playing that. I have now moved on to Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. You see, I made the mistake of putting ALL the games I wanted on my Christmas list for my parents and so if I buy a game I run the risk of buying the one that my parent's got me. So I am sitting tight till Wednesday to see what games I need to go out and buy.
I almost forgot…I didn't bother to inform you all that the reason I am a month late on my intro article is that I have been writing the backend of this site. I must say that it has come out better then I ever even dreamed it would. That means that I am the geek of the group. I am the one obsessed with tweaking hardware, case mods, programming, free bsd, networking…you name it.
To give you a little better feel about my gaming background, I have the following consoles hooked up in my room: Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, N64, Xbox, and PS2. They all work and I occasionally make use of the consoles other than my Xbox. My favorite NES game was Bionic Commando. I have an N64 to play Flying Dragon, an obscure fighting game w/ RPG elements. I only have SSX Tricky, Kingdom Hearts, and Dynasty Warriors 3 for PS2, and I only have Oddworld and Halo for Xbox. I haven't quite figured out if I am cheap or if I in fact hate all games except the ones that I somehow managed to justify.
At any rate, thank you for shopping Snackbar and enjoy your day.
