i would be scared to play it while i was signed in to xbl. i would only play it offline for fear of getting banished.

Argos Breaks Halo 3 Street Date
It was bound to happen and it looks like the UK retailer Argos is the first one to break the Halo 3 street date. Forum members over at Eurogamer.net have reportedly nabbed their copies of Halo 3 today and have provided proof in the form of pictures and receipts. Looks like someone at Argos is going to be in hot water.

Jesus. How does this keep happening? Dont these retailers care about getting fined for releasing such huge games before the street date? Are the fines just not enough for them to care?

39.99 GBP = 79.9027 USD

There are rumors that anyone caught playing the game before street date will get perma-banned. I find this hard to believe considering members of the press get games early always. I'll let you guys know when it arrives at La Casa de Cone.

Yeah, I saw the rest of this story. That's total bullshit on MS's part for banning the consumer for doing what we do when a game shows up on a store shelf.
I hope thats just some crazy rumor and not legit because if it is, MS has some more backlash on their hands. I smell a lawsuit brewing.
i might have to swing by and drop off that copy of eternal darkness if you get your copy before the 25!
wow... I can't believe someone could be so stupid. Someone is in some deep shizit!
PS - I can't wait till Sept. 25th. We should meet up in multiplayer.

So apparently it's just MS employees that get banned if they play the game early. Something still smells fishy about tall this. Why would they announce a ban if they didn't intend for it to include anyone that plays the game early? In any event, I'm glad those people that did get a copy already wont be penalized for the fault of a retailer.

...I told ya to zip it

Let's not get into an economical debate here. We all know different things cost different prices in different places for different reasons, so let's put all those differences aside and focus on the real issue.
Breaking street date seems like such a petty thing to me. I mean, I can understand a company wanting to have things released on a specific day or something, but if the game is in the store and people want to buy it, I have trouble seeing why they shouldn't be allowed to.
Also, shame on the people ratting Argos out. That's like biting the hand that feeds you.

They probably didn't realize they could get the place in trouble as much as they wanted bragging rights.
Personally, I don't care if I get a game early or not. I rarely have the time to play it anyhow. Had Metroid Prime 3 since launch. Played half an hour. I'm usually way to beat to even use the controller lately. Sinus infections make it so hard to breathe. Less oxygen = less energy. Damn I hate this.
