New Feature: Photo Galleries
Last night I rolled out some new functionality in the form of photo galleries. While this may seem like nothing to get excited about, I included some features that are unique to our site. For an example, check out this news post, which has this photo gallery attached to it.
If you click on any of the images or the gallery title, you are taken to the actual photo gallery. The gallery itself functions just like any other gallery you have seen before. From the individual photo view if you click the image, you get a blown up full size version of the image. If you go back to the index of the gallery and scroll to the bottom you'll see a nifty place that has a way for you to embed each gallery into your own website.
I hope you enjoy the new feature and feel free to start embedding our galleries wherever you'd like.

November '07 Backwards Compatability Update
Major Nelson just dropped the bomb on us that there was a new BC update available for the Xbox 360. This list is quite lenghty, but still noticeably absent from the list is one of my Xbox favs that happened to be published by MGS, Voodoo Vince. What is missing from this list that is making you hold on to your original Xbox?
Hit the jump for the full list.

Virtual Console Monday - 11.26.2007 (Double Dribble, Vegas Stakes, Ecco Jr.)
As we all come out of our tryptophan induced comas, Nintendo has greeted us with a trio of new VC titles. This week's goodies include Double Dribble (NES), Vegas Stakes (Super NES), and Ecco Jr. (Genesis).
I never was a big fan of Ecco and I didn't own a SNES as a kid, but Double Dribble was one of my favorite games for the NES. I'd be willing to bet that it hasn't aged quite as gracefully as some of the other NES titles out there. Despite my urge to buy it immediately, I may hold off and see if the sense of nostalgia wears off so I don't ruin another childhood memory. Hit the jump for full details on this weeks releases.

Enough Rock Band To Go Around?
With the official release of Rock Band being yesterday and the warnings of massive supply shortages, I stopped by a local Best Buy to check their stock. As you can see below, they had probably 50 units on hand at 8pm, well after the after work rush.
With Joystiq reporting similar findings, was the short supply notice merely creative marketing on EA's part? What about you, are your local stores stocked full of copies of the Rock Band bundle?

Win My Copy: The Witcher (PC)
With Thanksgiving just a few days away, I figured it was time to have another giveaway around here. This time, my copy of The Witcher is up for grabs. This is possibly going to be one of the final titles that hits retail with the Atari name on it so we'll pretend like it's extra special.
This is a PC only title with the following System Requirements:
Windows XP/Vista
Pentium 4 2.4GHz or Athlon 64 2800+*
1GM Ram
8.5GB Free HD Space
GeForce 6600 or Radeon 9800 or Better
*Athlon XP series not supported.
The rules are the same as they always are. The contest/giveaway is open to residents of the US and Canada. Due to the ESRB rating of this title, you must be 18 or older to enter. To enter, simply post in the comments section of this post and I'll randomly select a winner next Monday, November 26th at 3pm CST.
Duplicate entries will result in both entries being removed from the contest.

Link's Crossbow Training DVD Cover
Our sister site, The Cover Project, just posted a high res DVD sized cover insert for Link's Crossbow Training, the pack-in title for the Wii Zapper. Nintendo went with a paper sleeve for the North American release so it was up to the gurus over at TCP to hack one together.
This cover is made from scans of the paper envelope so it looks like a retail cover. You can grab it here.

Heroic Map Pack For Halo 3 Headed to Live On Dec. 11th
Microsoft announced today that the first part of a series of DLC packs for Halo 3 would be available on December 11th for 800 MS Points. The Heroic Map Pack contains 3 new maps that each represent a totally different style of play.
Standoff is a symmetrical valley which is perfect for mid-sized objective and Slayer type games.
Rat's Nest is a vast labyrinth of passages that is perfect for big team battles.
Foundry is the ultimate Forge map where players can edit every single object in the massive industrial warehouse area. This will allow gamers to customize the level to fit any type of game play they are after.
The Heroic Map Pack will debut as a free download sometime in the Spring of 2008, shortly before the second wave of Multi-player maps becomes available.

Happy Birthday to Wii
Nintendo's little console with the funny name is 1 year old today. Nintendo still can't keep units on shelves, and now their premier character has a main series title on the console. I got mine as a gift last Christmas and absolutely love it. It's even seeing more playtime than my 360 lately due to Super Mario Galaxy's addictive qualities.
So, what are your favorite Wii titles and features? As for me, Super Mario Galaxy easily takes the top spot for me, and I love being able to watch YouTube videos on my big screen TV.
