The "Adult" Sims?

A German game developer, Rotobee, has taken the concept of The Sims to the level that most people attempted to reach. The game focuses on the more "physical" side of relationship management. Admittedly, the game is meant for adults as some of the content is of a more graphic nature. The game is called "Singles: Flirt Up Your Life" and should be out in the UK this April. No word on a US release. The screenshots in the article are censored, but are probably not safe for work.

Palestinian Media Watch Intro?

One of our forumers, dodad, sent me a link this morning to the intro video of the Palestinian Media Watch, whatever that is. The reason he sent it to me is because they apparently use the music from Halo as their intro music. Very interesting indeed.

Otogi 2 Preview and Prince of Persia 2

I spent all day listening to people talk about how Ubi Soft was going to can the Prince of Persia series due to poor sales. I was slightly disheartened because of the high quality of Prince of Persia. Luckicly, Ubi Soft announced that a sequel was already in the works. If you don't have PoP yet, then I emplore you to get it. I can't stress enough how good this game really is.

Gamespot got their hands on the import version of "Otogi 2" and lets you know what to expect of the US release of the game.

Malice Update

As hard as I tried, I couldn't get any information out of Argonaut concerning the future of Malice, but there is a report on Boomtown today that Argonaut has teamed up with Evolved Games and Malice will be out in March 2004 for Xbox as well as PS2. Interesting developments for sure....

Guilty Pleasure - Samurai Style

Everyone is allowed a guilty pleasure in life and mine just happens to be the intense hack and slash style of Dynasty Warriors. I know I have already mentioned that Koei is releasing Samurai Warriors sometime this year, but they launched the official website for the game this weekend. The gallery has wallpapers for some of the new characters, which are beautifully designed. I think my favorite is this ninja looking badass named Hittori Hanzou. The side bar of each character page shows a few screenshots and boy does this game look fantastic.

Further reading of the site reveals this quote along with lots of screenshots:

Circular blades, false staircases, floor pitfalls, and other traps lay hidden within castle environments. The auto-formation system (AFS) automatically generates floor plans and conquest routes for each castle level, delivering a new experience with each play!
My countdown has begun. Time to find out how long I have to wait for this game.

The hell is this...

I played a bit of Baldur's Gate II Dark Alliance. I was totally unimpressed. I was really hoping for a better face lift, as well as some customizable characters. I mean a playable drow? The hell are they thinking? Granted the characters look good, I just want to make my own guy, and go in and start my adventure. Can I not have a Neverwinter Nights with nice graphics? I guess not.

Playable drow...

RE4 for Cube

Capcom just presented a playable version of Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube. The press release didn't have a whole lot of information aside from the games estimated ship date of Winter 2004. You can read the full release here.

Price Drops again?

Here we go again. We now have a market analyst reporting to CNN that he expects drops to $129 from Sony and MS very soon and an additional drop to $99 before Labor Day. This analyst is also expecting to see Xbox2 ready in 2005. While I tend to disregard what most people like that spout off, I would love to see some price drops as it would heat up the competition once again. I spent part of the day debating the legitimacy of these claims on the PA forum and I think there were some very good points raised so feel free to read that thread if you want to know what the general consensus is on the topic.

I imagine that we will hear something official in the near future should those rumors have some factual basis to them.

Cool Console

I am beginning to think that North America gets the goods in terms of games for the most part, but we totally get shafted with limited edition consoles. Japan is getting a green xbox and a white xbox and a new crystal xbox is being released in Europe. How hard can it be to take the plastic molding meant for the Japanes e and European limited editions and to slap it around the North American parts? I didn't think so. I would really appreciate having a crystal Xbox in my house or even a transluscent green one.
