It's Good To Be Back
It's been a rough few weeks around here in case you hadn't noticed. Problems with our webhosting company forced me to do an emergency migration of our forums to phpBB 3, which I wasn't ready to do. That move in turn forced me to make some major modifications to our back end that prevented us from adding content to the site. To add insult to injury, the hosting company also disabled The Cover Project's entire website forcing me to setup a new web host and move the site over late Friday evening. I think I finally have all the bugs worked out so we can get back into the groove around here. Thanks for being so patient.

Forum Status
The forums were overloading the server we are on so our host disabled them for the time being. I am working on upgrading and optimizing them to prevent them from bringing the server down. In the meantime, hang tight. I'll let you know when things are back online.
The rest of the site will remain online during this time.

Capcom Announces Bionic Commando Rearmed
Bionic Commando was one of my favorite games back on the NES so news that a remake was in progress made my day. Capcom announced today that they were also remaking the classic 8-bit version of the game for Xbox LIVE Arcade and the Playstation Network. The remade version of the game is set to release sometime this spring.
Images included with the press release look pretty sweet and will be more than enough to hold me over until the next gen version of the game drops later this year. Hit the jump to see the gallery and read the full press release.

Smash Bros. Brawl delayed to March 9
It looks like American gamers will have to wait a while longer to get their hands on the new Smash Bros. game for the Wii. According to a new notice on the official Web site, the release of Brawl has been pushed back to March 9th in the U.S.
The game also received a short delay in Japan, to January 31.
The many Brawl delays have been especially painful since the company began building anticipation with daily updates from creator Masahiro Sakurai.

Virtual Console Monday - 01.14.2008 (Pac-Attack, Riot Zone)
With the post holiday gaming lull in full effect, only 2 new additions are headed to the Wii Shop Channel this week: Pac-Attack (SNES) and Riot Zone (TG-16). Pac-Attack is a quirky puzzle game featuring Pac-Man in a rare appearance outside his typical maze environment and Riot Zone is a standard early 90s side-scrolling fighter game.
Both titles will be available today at 9am PST for 800 Wii Points. Hit the jump for a full summary of this week's titles.

Wanted: Inquisitive Apprentice to Professor Layton
Sometimes Nintendo's press releases and campaigns are strange. Take for instance the email I received this morning from Nintendo. It contained nothing more than the following image. It appears to be a promotional image for the upcoming Professor Layton and the Curious Village, a game which has little information on the Nintendo website. There is even less information on the Nintendo Press site. Furthermore, the game is slated to ship on 2/18.
Hit the jump to see the included image.
