SB@E3: Beatles Rock Band impressions

Note: E3 may be over, but that doesn't mean we're done with posting hands-on impressions and views from the show floor!

The Beatles Rock Band starts out looking pretty similar. Besides the fresh coat of paint, it could just be a song pack, right? Wrong. What makes BRB special is the addition of harmonizing vocals. Rock Band purists shouldn't worry; they're optional, but it really makes it feel like a performance.

We had a look at all three versions, and the Wii version looks more than competent. Those looking for a little extra visual splash can always go with the 360 and PS3 versions, but it's nice to see the Wii port isn't an afterthought this time.

MTV Games was also showing off the new Beatles-themed peripherals. The drum set just has a faux bass drum on the front, but the guitars felt a little more authentic and added a bit to the fun.

Beatles Rock Band will be out this September to coincide with the remastered Beatles albums on CD.

I really love the look of those instruments (as if I don't have enough of them in the house already), but that faux kick drum is going to get destroyed by the kids. lol.
