Yoshi’s Touch & Go

April 14, 2005

I know I am late to the party on this one but we got Yoshi’s Touch & Go as well as Donkey Kong Jungle Beat yesterday and while I can’t talk about Jungle Beat I can tell you that Touch & Go is the best game on the DS as far as I am concerned. It is a little shallow, but man is it fun. More on that when the review is posted.

I also want to make you guys aware of something that is in a very infantile stage. Many of you are aware of Penny Arcade’s Childs Play and how successful it has been. Since we emphasize community and all that jazz we have really wanted to help out in some way but I wasn’t sure that Childs Play was the right place for our effort so we are going to organize a video game and toy drive local to San Antonio. Of course, anyone is welcome to donate and participate but all proceeds are going to benefit the Methodist Children’s Hospital.

I have already spoken to them and I have a general list of needs that they have. When the topic of video games came up the woman I was speaking with got very excited at the thought of new systems and games. I have a feeling this could be very cool and I want to get as many people onboard as I can.

If you know someone interested in donation supplies, money, or items to help us get this rolling I would be glad to talk to you. We are going to need donation boxes/stations and probably a lot of other stuff we haven’t thought of yet.

I will keep you all posted as this unfolds. We are aiming for a summer launch and drive so we don’t conflict with the Christmas toy drives that are run in San Antonio every year.
