4 of 5: Niche

Devil May Cry 4 could have been the best of the series, if only there wouldn’t have been so much backtracking (which, along with plot twists, are necessary parts of your average Japanese game, I think). The key word there is “if”. For the reasons that I mentioned, DMC 4 doesn't quite get a 5. I still recommend it, though, because for most of the time, you will be entertained.
