So it ends

May 24, 2005

E3 2005 is over and while I can’t say that it was a disappointment I think the new consoles were such a focal point of the event that not a lot of attention was paid to the games we are going to be playing until a time when the consoles reach retail stores.

Kingdom Hearts 2 had an impressive showing with a new trailer and some new information on the adventures you will undertake this time around. I try to bank info like this and not let it get me excited because then I become ill when I realize I still have 5+ months until I actually get to play the game.

Aside from that I didn’t really “see” anything that made me jump for joy. There is plenty of coverage on every minute detail of the show on just about every other gaming site out there for those of you that may have missed something.

In unrelated news, the launch of Movie Thunder is drawing near, very near. Stay tuned as we ramp up for that. It should be good. Or at least I hope it is because I have a ton of time invested into that thing.

There will probably be talk of a slight bias since Major Nelson works for Microsoft but he did a hefty 4 page comparison in terms of hardware performance with the Xbox 360 and the PS3. I will maintain that none of this is relevant if the games suck, but with the next gen console wars heating up I figured I would help spread the truth.

On another note, backwards compatability has been confirmed for Xbox 360. It will make use of a emulation environment so you can all stop worrying.

NumbThumb Games

May 20, 2005

The guys over at Numb Thumb Games have always been good to us and they just launched a new website. The new site has improved navigation and an overall much cleaner interface that I think is quite nifty. They have also started to rent out DS and PSP games in addition to GBA, Xbox, PS2, and GC games. This makes Numb Thumb the perfect game rental service for anyone in Texas. Having them based in Austin makes shipping times very short and I have had nothing but quality experiences with them. I highly suggest you check them out because I know that paying $50 for a game can get real old real quick.

Happy Star Wars Day to you all. May the force be with you.

Hulk

The most recent Hulk game flat out sucked but I just watched the trailer for The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and man does that look fresh. You definitely need to check this one out.
