Less than a year after it’s debut, six million Xbox 360 consoles have been sold worldwide. 3.6 million of those were sold in the the United States, 1.7 million in Europe, and 700k elsewhere. The goal set at E3 still stands: Microsoft wants to sell ten million units before the end of the year. It is still possible, but come November Microsoft will not be the only one in the next generation console market.

Some Halo 3 Details

October 27, 2006

Some news has surfaced regarding the highly anticipated game, Halo 3. The Legendary Edition’s case will be Master Cheif’s metal helmet and will contain four discs. The first disc will contain the game, the second a director’s commentary and documentaries, the third will have all the Red vs Blue episodes and the fourth will have all the cutscenes from Halo 1, 2 and 3.

There is also slated to be a bevy of new weapons including the following: Spiker, Spartan Laser (it can destroy a vehicle in a single hit) and Nail Grenade. A new vehicle will also debut in the game, called Mongoose. It will be like an ATV, can carry two people and does not have any weapons. The multi-player will allegedly have a canon that can shoot out people. Wow. This game will rock on so many levels. The release is currently slated for Fall 2007.

Gears of War, one of the most anticipated games coming out this holiday season for the Xbox 360, has been banned in Germany. Apparently, the game was too violent, and the cencors flat out banned the game. Importing companies and sites will be raking in big cash because of this. This sucks for german gamers.

Why wouldn’t Nintendo want you to get the latest Zelda game for the Gamecube? The answer is rather obvious: the Wii is coming. For example, in Japan, you will only be able to get the Gamecube version of Twilight Princess in Nintendo’s online store. The game is also coming out later than the Wii counterpart. But then what is the point of even releasing the game on the Gamecube? Wiill (see what I did there?) folks that get the Wii at launch, or close to it, even bother looking at the box of the Gamecube version? Wouldn’t it bring more potential customers to get the Wii if that was the only console the long awaited Twilight Princess would be available on? Discuss in the forums!
