Cryptic Studios announced today that their MMO, Champions Online, will be going free-to-play on January 25th, 2011. At that point, players will be able to access the standard game for free, with ‘Adventure Packs’ available to expand your game for a charge. If you’d rather not pay per pack, but want the added content, you can continue to subscribe to the game for $14.99 per month.
Upon its relaunch as a free-to-play title, Cryptic Studios will rebrand it as Champions Online: Free-for-All.
