IDG, the company behind the MacWorld Expo among other things, has announced that they are bringing us an E3 replacement in the form of the GamePro Expo. The GamePro Expo promises to be everything that E3 was and will debut in 2007 in LA.
Unlike E3, this is not a trade only event and will also have consumer and competition level events going on in addition to the industry only portions of the show. It will be interesting to see if this is the phoenix rising from the ashes of E3 or something entirely different.
It should be noted that the person behind this new show is none other than , Mary Dolaher, a key organizer of E3 that was hired by IDG this month.
