Kingdom Hearts II Returns To Number 1 In Japan

April 5, 2007

With the release of the special edition version of Square’s Disney crossover, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+, now in stores it didn’t take long for the popular franchise to return to the top of the charts with 173,212 copies heading home with happy gamers. Coming in at number 2 is Musou Orochi (the follow-up to English Training) with 73,387 copies sold. Games for the DS rounded out spots 3 – 6 on the Japanese charts.

With what basically amounts to a re-release of a game that was released in late 2005 outselling everything by more than 2 fold you have to wonder why Square has neglected to regionalize the Final Mix games up to this point. I’m a fan of Kingdom Hearts and I’d gladly re-purchase both of those titles if given the opportunity.

Are you hearing me Square Enix? I will give you money to buy something I already own with a few additional levels, etc. Please do the rest of the world a favor and release Final Mix+ to us!
