New PSP Tales Brings Together Characters Old And New

March 16, 2007

Officials from Namco Bandai announced the next game in the company’s long running Tales franchise, Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology, will ship for the PSP this summer.

While details are a bit sketchy currently, Namco Bandai has revealed that the game will feature characters both new characters and returning favorites, such as Stahn Aileron from Tales of Destiny, Reid Hershel from Tales of Destiny II, Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia, and Luke fon Fabre from Tales of the Abyss.

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology will also feature item customization, as well as the ability to trade items wirelessly with other players. In addition, players can expect the return of the series’ series’ free-roaming battle system, as well as the ability to create a custom hero using options such as voice, hairstyle and class (Warrior, Thief, Priest, and Mage).

Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology sets players in the mystical world of Terresia. This once peaceful land is turning into a realm of havoc and darkness at the hands of The Devourer, a creature that is destroying all in its path. It is up to The World Tree, which creates and protects the world of Terresia, to use its last bit of strength to summon the world’s last hope – a lone hero. Now the hero must descend upon the world of Terresia in an epic battle for survival and honor.
