E3: Sony

Sony begins their press conference by expounding on their presence in the 3D gaming market, saying they will have more than 20 3D games on the PS3 by March 2011. To showcase their 3D gaming, they bring up Killzone 3 in 3D. Coming out in February, 2011. It will also be compatible with the Playstation Move. Kaz Hirai says Killzone 3 will do for 3D gaming what Avatar did for 3D movies. READ MORE

E3: Nintendo

Nintendo started off their press conference with a bang today, showing off a new trailer for the new Zelda game, Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Following this they showed off some live gameplay of it. Sword and shield movement should be 1:1 thanks to the Motion+. There are also new gameplay elements which will no doubt be used in a variety of puzzles, including a whip. No definite release date announced, but Nintendo said it will be coming out next year, not this year. READ MORE

Microsoft did not reveal the price of their new controller-free gaming and interface platform Kinect during their E3 conference, but it seems that U.S. video game retailer GameStop has revealed it for them. Kinect is currently available for pre-order on GameStop’s website for $149 stand alone, or $399 bundled together with a 360 Elite console.
As noted on GameStop’s own page, the price is not considered final, and it may change in the future, but this seems like a pretty strong indication of what kind of price point we should expect.
