Alice: Madness Returns is a sequel nobody could have seen coming, especially eleven years after the release of the original. American McGee’s Alice was a cult hit and garnered a lot of attention for designer American McGee, featuring a darker, more sinister version of Lewis Carroll’s classic book. Following the events of the first game, Madness Returns focuses on Alice as a teenager, recovering from her traumatic past. The Wii version of SEGA’s Captain America: Super Soldier is a surprisingly solid action-platformer despite its movie tie-in roots. Taking place as a sort of side mission between the events depicted in the movie, CA:SS starts off with an introductory/tutorial level on the front-lines before proceeding to the main locale, Baron Zemo’s castle. The Baron is not pleased at the fact that HYDRA has taken over his family’s estate for their research purposes, but he’s not really in a position to do anything about it other than give Cap — normally his hated enemy — some pointers about its layout via radio. The DS version of SEGA’s Captain America: Super Soldier feels like it was an obligatory offering rather than anything the programmers really wanted to code. For the most part a brawly platformer, CA:SS has Cap punching, shielding, and jumping his way through Baron Zemo’s castle, which has been overtaken by HYDRA to further their research. Zemo isn’t too happy about this, so he’s willing to help Cap out despite the fact that the two would normally be at odds. READ MORE

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam 3 is very obviously a game made for the cross-section of the gaming population that enjoys Gundam anime and Dynasty Warriors games. You’ll take your chosen character from one end of the board to the other, claiming squares along the way. Arrive at an unclaimed square and units loyal to your cause will pour out of it. Arrive at a square claimed by the opposition, however, and you’ll need to clear the area of enemies before claiming it as your own. READ MORE

Sega’s recent releases based on the latest Marvel movies have been less than great. From the two Iron Man games to this year’s Thor: God of Thunder, it was safe to assume everyone’s favorite spandex-wearing American soldier would get a similar treatment. Thankfully, Captain America: Super Soldier surpasses those lousy expectations and stands out on its own a truly fun, albeit unpolished, adventure. READ MORE
