We like tower defense games, but the formula is getting a bit stale these days. We also like multiplayer action-RPGs, but they’re all blurring into each other lately because nothing stands out. Deus Ex: Human Revolution was far from a perfect game, but what it did well it did really well. The first piece of DLC, The Missing Link, attempts to bridge the gap between events near the end of the main game’s story. It also manages to focus on what made the game great in the first place: satisfying mechanics, an intriguing plot and plenty of areas to explore. READ MORE

Two years ago, Batman: Arkham Asylum redefined superhero games, licensed games, and even action games. We haven’t seen anyone attempt to recreate what Arkham Asylum did and pull it off as successfully. Thankfully, a new Batman game is here to bring us back into the bone-breaking world of the Dark Knight, complete with a new open-world and a bag full of new tricks. READ MORE

Superhero games have gotten a bad rap lately, and it isn’t undeserved. Outside of Arkham Asylum and a couple of Spider-Man games, they’ve all been anywhere from middling to horrible the last several years. The new Guardian Heroes doesn’t make the best first impression. You may have already heard preview grumblings from players and fans deriding the new visual filters, and even when you run the game for the first time, the interface is a mess, the combat’s a bit strange and the game doesn’t help you figure out either one. You’ll feel compelled to turn off the game and never play it again.
