TOP STORY: Mass Effect 3 demo will upgrade your Silver account

EA has already announced a plethora of bonuses for playing the Mass Effect 3 demo, mostly for those interested in the Kingdom of Amalur: Reckoning. However, this week they announced a new bonus that every Xbox Live member should be interested in, as anyone who downloads the demo will have their account upgraded to Gold status until March 6. We suppose this is to allow anyone who wants to the ability to fully play the multiplayer aspects of the demo.

This week Sony released videos detailing a new way to play ball in MLB 12: The Show, both at the plate and in the field. Offering both a new way to play and the chance of more realistic games and results, Sony is hoping that these new modes will attract new players to the game. And for those who hate change, don’t worry. The trailers show that all the old methods of playing are still intact, just one menu option away. TOP STORY: Nintendo Network on Wii U and 3DS

During an investor meeting this week, Nintendo released a ton of information regarding the Wii U and the 3DS. (Speaking of the Wii U, Nintendo is reconsidering the name.) As for the big news, Nintendo gave the first details on their new online service, Nintendo Network. In addition to allowing online tournaments and DLC downloads, it will include individual user accounts rather than hardware-based accounts. Mario Kart 7 is already using an early version of the Nintendo Network, as is Theatrhythm Final Fantasy.

TOP STORY: Resident Evil 6 detailed and dated

Capcom was apparently sitting on a Resident Evil 6 announcement until it had a whole chunk of data they were willing to give up on it (namely a date: November 20). Taking place roughly 10 years after the Raccoon City incident, RE6 will feature separate storylines for Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield: Leon’s focused on America, where the President is zombified, and Chris is heading to China. New characters will be introduced and join them in their attempts to fight the bioterrorism outbreaks. Additionally, while not specifically mentioned by Capcom, the Xbox.com entry for RE6 says that it will support two-player offline and six-player online co-op.
